September - New Beginnings

We moved most of our things into our new house, and waited until the end of September for our boxes to arrive from Tortola. It was interesting to look at our wedding presents from 7 years ago, as we unpacked all of our stored boxes from my sister's basement. September was basically getting adjusted to the new house and Chip's new job. He was traveling a lot the first month, and I was trying to keep Lindsay from taking her first steps while he was out of town. She became a waddler in September, but this progressed to running in October. Here are a few cute photos of her from September.

August 18th - Closing Day for our New House!!!!

The month between arriving in KC and closing on our house is a blur. We were ordering furniture, buying cars, and living with Grandma and Grandpa D (thanks!!!). Our closing date on the house was August 18th - and finally - we are homeOWNERS for the first time in our lives. Here are a couple of pictures of us in the house!!!

Lindsay is 1 in Kansas City

Lindsay and I actually flew back to the USA on her first birthday!!! Grandmother accompanied us as far as Texas, and all of the flights went well. All of Lindsay's KC cousins came over that Thursday evening - even though we arrived very late (and past my one year old's bedtime). They brought balloons - Lindsay's favorite - and we just chatted for a bit.

On Saturday the 22nd of July we had her big party. I made a sandcastle cake, complete with BVI and US flags (thanks cousin Katie), and 21 BVI shells for Lindsay being one year old on the 20th of July!!! It was a lot of fun - and you'll notice now in pictures that Lindsay is not near so sweaty!!!!! Central air-conditioning again - thank goodness!!!!
